9.2: CLT for Means


In this next section, we're going to summarize all the observations from the previous section in the form of the Central Limit Theorem for sample means.  We'll then see how to use the CLT to figure out whether the sample of 10-year-old boys in the introductory example showed a significant reduction in lung capacity.

We'll also look at what that reduction might mean for the boys which will introduce you to the idea of "statistical significance" vs. "clinical" or "practical significance".
